Emily is a solicitor in the Litigation and Disputes team of Carter Lemon Camerons and has experience in dealing with claims from the initial instruction period to full preparation for trial including drafting statements of case, extensive preparation of witness statements, disclosure of documents and negotiating settlements if and when necessary.

Emily has assisted on a wide range of commercial disputes such as claims for breach of contract and for outstanding debts and various property litigation matters, including a contested leasehold enfranchisement. She has acted in securing clients’ interests once judgments have been obtained and has advocacy experience at a County Court level.

Emily has an honours degree in History from the University of Durham and went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law Guildford. She joined the firm as a trainee in January 2008 and qualified into the firm’s litigation department as an assistant solicitor in February 2010.

The chance to try different areas of law during her training contract helped to clarify where she wanted to specialise. Emily firmly believed her call lay in the transactional side of law and it was with some reservations that she embarked upon her seat in litigation. However, after an extensive stint in the firm’s litigation department and a secondment period to the former Metson Cross litigation team it was clear that this was where her interests lay: from that point on she has never looked back.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys home decoration, cooking, travel and spending time with friends and family.
