Prod is a legal executive in the property team at Carter Lemon Camerons and handles a broad range of residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases, mortgages, transfers of equity, shared ownership, and declarations of trust, equity release, personal guarantees, lease assignments, renewals and variations. His clients include property developers, landlords, lettings agents, surveyors and residents associations.
His landlord and tenant practice encompasses all aspects of residential lease and tenancy matters and disputes from preparing tenancy agreements, serving notices, recovering rent and service charge arrears to handling unlawful eviction, harassment and housing disrepair claims. He particularly enjoys residential estate management and collective enfranchisement.
Prod particularly enjoys estate management and collective enfranchisement and also deals with a variety of civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on debt recovery and enforcement of judgments.
Recent work:
- Dealing regularly with a number of purchase and sale transactions involving property held in trust by and for Charities.
- Representing the private client department in a property transaction which involved three of the firm’s departments and which concerned the purchase of a multi-million pound property by acquiring ownership of the shares in the selling company.
- Dealing with first registration of unregistered agricultural land which was affected by a number of transfers, settlements and trusts that had been created, varied and determined over a number of years and which was subject to a number of rights and burdens.
- Acting for one of the largest private property investment group in the UK in connection with the grant, renewal and surrender of leases of commercial land and premises.
- Handling a claim at the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal as to the reasonableness of a service charge demanded by a landlord for several years.
- Representing a leading mobile telecommunications operator in connection with acquisitions, renewals and transfers of sites containing mobile masts.
- Acting to prevent the administration of an estate pending investigation into the validity of the deceased’s will and his testamentary capacity.
- Successfully bringing a claim to preserve and uphold a right of way between two residential properties that was thought to have extinguished many years earlier.
- Assisting the Law Society as an intervening agent in connection with its intervention of firms of solicitors accused of wrongdoing.
- Successfully defending an Inheritance Act claim brought against an estate by an aggrieved relative claiming to be a lawful dependant.
Prod joined Carter Lemon Camerons LLP in June 2008. He is a Legal Executive with over 18 years experience in private practice preparing and advising on wills, assents and powers of attorney and codicils, administering estates, debt recovery, enforcement of judgments and boundary disputes.
Prod was born in the UK to Greek Cypriot parents and enjoys close links to the local Greek community. Needless to say he can speak Greek. Outside the office Prod enjoys renovating houses and is a keen gardener.
