Chris Picardo specialises in transactional property work and property management advice. Chris advises a range of investors, developers, business occupiers and individuals on a variety of commercial property transactions including; acquisitions, disposals, property finance, the negotiation of business leases and portfolio management. Chris is thought of by a number of clients as a member of their team rather than as someone they turn to with specific tasks. He adds value for those clients by retaining a knowledge and an interest in their portfolio of investments so that he can quickly and efficiently see ways to get results for them. The largest project in value terms of his career so far was analysing the lease which underlies a landmark property investment made by an offshore SPV client of the firm, during which project he negotiated and reported on the Certificate of Title which the sellers’ solicitors offered to the buyer and its funder. Recently, Chris has been involved from the start of another client’s purchase and development, pre-letting and funding of an out of town A1 A2 and A3 retail park . He has also acted on the acquisition of an industrial property through the purchase of the shares of a UK limited company which was later liquidated solvently as part of a restructuring and reorganisation. These transactions have been in an economic climate which makes Chris’s “can do” attitude a useful approach which has served him and the client well. Chris graduated in Law from the University of Reading and studied the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford. Chris then joined the firm as a trainee in 1997 and was admitted as a solicitor in 1999 working in the Commercial Property team. In his free time Chris enjoys writing fiction, travel abroad (including to Peru, Chile and Argentina in South America and to Malaysia and Thailand in South East Asia) and playing golf. |
